Meet the Director
Hi, I’m Samantha Norland, and I’m the Director at Millard Childcare and Preschool. I grew up in the small town of Herman NE, and I have been working with children almost my whole life. I spent most of my years growing up babysitting my 3 younger siblings and other kids in my hometown. My first official job was at a childcare center when I was in high school. I went to college at The University of Nebraska Omaha for Theater until I slowly started to make my way back into the childcare scene. I started working at MCP in 2017 and before becoming Director, I was lead of our Toddler 1 classroom for 4 years.
I just recently got married to my husband JDon. We are dog parents to a 2-year-old Chihuahua Pekingese mix and a 1-year-old Shiba Inu. We spend a lot of our free time hanging out at local dog parks and giving belly rubs.
My favorite thing about working with children is watching the progress they make as move up through the center and getting to work closely with the kids to get a glimpse of how the world works through their eyes. I cannot wait to continue to learn and grow here as Director.
Meet Our Assistant Director
Danae Hutchinson is the Assistant Director at Millard Childcare and Preschool, and she has been with us since 2018. She grew up in a suburb of Kansas City. After graduating high school, she went on to be a medic in the U.S. Army for 8 years.
Danae grew up with 3 younger sisters and was also a nanny during her summer breaks.
Danae enjoys spending time with her husband and son. One of her favorite activities is traveling. Some of her favorite spots are the Black Hills and Northern California.
Danae’s favorite thing about working with kids is getting to watch them learn and grow. She has worked with kids of all ages.
Danae will be assisting in all the classrooms at MCP. She looks forward to working with the children, parents, and teachers to ensure there is a conducive learning environment filled love and joy!
The Perfect Place for Your Little Ones
We offer programs for infants (6 weeks to 18 months), toddlers (18 months to 3 years), preschool-age kids (3 to 5 years), and school-age kids (5 to 12 years).
Our facility contains classroom space as well as playgrounds that are separated by age group. We also have an indoor gym so your kids can play in any weather.
Our staff is certified in both CPR and first aid to keep your children safe. Visit our facility today at 5225 S 170th St — we welcome walk-in tours.
